Insight

All we need is a little more insight! This week my prayer time has been mainly questions and among those I’ve been asking for wisdom and insight. Shortly after praying one morning I came across a bit of this scripture on a status update of all places, and it stood out to me like it was highlighted. I dug up some more verses around it in hopes for an answer. One of my questions in prayer was “Am I trying to figure out too much when I should be trusting” in other words, “am I asking too many questions?!” I wanted to dissect on an area of my life, check my motives, my soul, and ask God “what was up, and what’s the hold up!” This scripture was an answer to my prayer.
Proverbs 2:2-11
2 Tune your ears to wisdom,
and concentrate on understanding.
3 Cry out for insight,
and ask for understanding.
4 Search for them as you would for silver;
seek them like hidden treasures.
5 Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord,
and you will gain knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord grants wisdom!
From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
8 He guards the paths of the just
and protects those who are faithful to him.
9 Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair,
and you will find the right way to go.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will fill you with joy.
11 Wise choices will watch over you.
Understanding will keep you safe.
I don’t know of a time in my life that I have ever been so sure that God is in control! And saying that, I have never been at a place in my life of such uncertainty! I’m looking for God in the bushes if you know what I mean. I’m waiting on His promises to be manifested in my life. SO…the answer to one of my questions about asking questions, is clearly defined here in the scripture. Cry out and ask away, search for answers like it’s hidden treasure. That’s when you will gain understanding. Making decisions about the future requires insight from God, and sometimes, in the waiting, your being strengthened to carry the weight of the coming season. You can’t always be subject to man’s opinions, insight, or desires for your life because God has a road for you that is unique and all your own.
I still don’t have the answer to how this area in my life will play out, but what I do have is this scripture that God gave me, guaranteeing that He will guard my path and I will go the right way!
